The Garmin Nuvi 250 accepts custom points of interest or POI's. Additional points of interest can be downloaded via the Garmin POI Loader.

The Points of Interest that are available from 3rd Party suppliers is vast and include everything from restaurants, take-aways, cinemas, High Street shops, retail parks, hotels, fish and chip shops, pubs and petrol stations.

Nuvi 250 - Safety Alerts

An additional feature of the Nuvi 250 when used in conjunction with the Garmin POI loader is the ability to be alerted to any zones that require the driver to take extra driving precautions. These alerts include the near proximity of speed safety cameras, upcoming red lights and nearby schools.

The Garmin Nuvi 250 is programmed to give both visual and voice alerts to the driver whenever they are in a certain distance from or driving at a certain speed near to an upcoming POI.
